remains common in some populations and the use of specific therapeutics is warranted in affected animals. Omeprazole remains the best studied of these with recent work suggesting that lower doses than traditionally used may be efficacious. Conversely, a small subset of the population appear refractory to omeprazole treatment and other therapeutic modalities such as ranitidine and/or specific neutraceutical complexes warrant consideration in selected cases.
