Ambulatory exams, emergencies and economics in ‘focus’ at summer meeting
July 26-28, 2015 Minneapolis, Minnesota
As the first line of defense when the health of a client’s horse is at risk, ambulatory practitioners often practice in less than ideal conditions. Confronted by natural limitations in the field, successful ambulatory practitioners must maximize their environment, apply a broad knowledge and skill set, and deploy appropriate time and money management.
The AAEP’s Focus on Ambulatory Medicine is geared specif- ically to the road warriors of equine practice. Practical lectures and case-based presentations will strengthen your ability to perform thorough but efficient field examinations, triage emergencies, determine when to refer a case, and optimize your time, income and technology.
From field to finance, Focus on Ambulatory Medicine will help you improve patient health, client satisfaction and business profitability!
Meeting topics will include: • Performing dental, lameness, neurologic, ophthalmic and nutritionally focused exams in the field
• Diagnosing and treating common field emergencies as well as neurologic and ophthalmic emergencies
• Stabilizing fractures for referral • Interpreting available diagnostic testing for EPM and Lyme disease
