Foal and sport horse care in ‘focus’ at AAEP summer CE meetings
The AAEP’s summer Focus meetings provided nearly 370 veterinarians with the latest evidence-based knowledge to enhance the care they provide to their foal and sport horse patients.
Focus on the Sport Horse drew 232 practitioners to Louisville, Ky., July 20-22, for the latest thinking on diagnostic techniques and gait analysis to increase efficiency and accuracy of lameness diagnosis. During Focus on the First Year of Life, Sept. 11-13 in Phoenix, Ariz., 132 attendees gained valuable insights into successful diagnosis and treatment of the assortment of ailments that afflict neonatal and older foals.
Meanwhile, 54 students attended the second annual Focus on Students, held in conjunc- tion with Focus on the Sport Horse, and participated in a variety of interactive labs, pro- fessional development sessions and an Avenues speed networking career night.
Next summer will see the return of 360° meetings in addition to Focus meetings. Meeting details will be available soon at
www.aaep.org/info/education.
