was 8, with a range of 3 to 22 years. In 227 horses, poor performance was attributed at least in part to abnormalities of the lumbosacral or sacroiliac joints. Four horses were asymptomatic, and transrectal ul- trasound was performed as a part of pre-purchase examination.
Images of 228 lumbosacral disc spaces were re- viewed. There was sacralization of the LS space in three horses (1%). Three horses were excluded because diagnostic images were not saved to the PACS. Because of data presented previously by Nagy and Dyson, normal and mild were considered
