AAEVT recognizes Dr. Kelly Zeytoonian The American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians and Assistants presented its Deb Reeder Innovation Award on Nov. 30 to Dr. Kelly Zeytoonian, owner of Starwood Equine Veterinary Service in Redwood City, Calif., for her efforts to improve the veterinary profession and health care team as a whole.
Dr. Zeytoonian received her veterinary degree in 2009 from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She is co-chair of the AAEP’s Practice Culture Subcommittee and has been a strong advocate for the advancement and utilization of equine veterinary technicians in practice.

PATH Intl. honors Tennessee Equine Hospital
The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) on Oct. 27 honored Tennessee Equine Hospital in Thompson’s Station, Tenn., as its national Veterinarian of the Year. Tennessee Equine Hospital veterinarians have volunteered their services in support of Saddle Up! therapeutic riding center for over three decades.

PATH Intl. was formed in 1969 to promote safety and optimal outcomes in equine-assisted services for individuals with special needs and others. The award was sponsored by AAEP Educational Partner American Regent Animal Health.
