The doctors in the field are likewise able to view and access the site real time on a laptop, tablet, or smartphone (an internet connection is required). With this format, appointments can be highlighted or coded by color for appointments that require spe- cial circumstances, such as radiograph or ultra- sound equipment, new client, routine care, breeding work, etc. The flexibility in application is limited only by the creativity of the user.
5. Data and Financial Analysis
A primary utility of Excel is its ability to analyze and process large amounts of data with very little effort on the part of the user. The analyzed data can then be configured to automatically represent the results in a graphical format which, in the au- thor’s experience, is the best way to analyze, share and discuss the key performance metrics of the busi- ness. This works best if one sheet is designated for data entry only. Most veterinary software has the ability to export raw data in a CSV or TXT file. These files can then be opened by Excel and the data imported into Excel format. Alternatively, the key data that one wants to track can be manually en- tered into the data entry sheet.
