made, a third sheet can be used to draw graphs of the calculations. The ability to easily chart data is crucial to rapidly identifying and understanding the trends that are happening within the business. (Please note illustrated examples contain com- pletely random data.) Below is an example of what charts can be generated from the input data (Fig. 17). Representation of practice performance into a graphical format, as demonstrated in the accompa- nying figure (Fig. 16), is an outstanding way to quickly and easily share, analyze, and discuss prac- tice performance with multiple partners. Developing these charts within Excel requires
several steps, which are beyond the scope of this discussion. A future talk could be dedicated to the topic of building business metric charts in Excel. However, the same principles and calculations apply here as they do to the other examples discussed previously.

Excel is an extremely customizable and adaptable program. Its widespread use and acceptance makes it a great vehicle to share information with clients and colleagues. It is one of many tools equine practitioners can utilize to increase their ef- ficiency and accuracy of practice, while simultane- ously improving the client experience and ultimately patient care. The creativity of its uses in equine practice is limited only by the end user.
