| CONCLUSION
The results of the present study indicate that the use of AB does not influence the probability of success following dental extrac- tion in horses with dental sinusitis. Consequently,
it should be
considered that perioperative AB may potentially be omitted as an adjunct to dental extraction in horses with dental sinusi- tis. The decision to exclude AB from the treatment regimen for horses with dental sinusitis that were subjected to MTE should be approached with caution, given the small sample size of horses subjected to MTE in this study. Furthermore, considering how the majority of horses in this study ended up successful without the use of more invasive sinus surgery, the necessity and timing of such procedures relative to dental extraction merits further inves- tigation in future studies.
